A recipe inspired by (copied from) a Sue Grafton book. I really enjoyed this simple easy to make sandwich and hope you will too. Lends its self to many modifications.
Ingredients:
3 slices monterey jack pepper cheese
4 slices salami
1 egg
1 kaiser roll (can use hamburger bun)
butter
Directions:
1. Butter the kaiser roll and toast it face down on a hot frying pan. Remove to plate.
2. Place salami on bottom of roll and top with cheese.
3. Place prepared bottom in toaster oven. Heat until cheese is well melted.
4. While cheese is melting, fry egg, sunny side up (then flip and fry till not runny if you are worried about it – but runny is better).
5. Remove roll from toaster when cheese is melted and top with egg.
6. Apply mustard, mayo, jalapeno peppers, whatever, (or nothing) to the top of the bun and place on the egg. Mash it down and enjoy.
