Sage and Onion Sauce for Pork

Copied out of a library book many years ago, for use with pork chops.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon chopped fresh sage
2 tablespoons finely choped onions
4 tablespoons water
salt & pepper
2 tablespoons fresh breadcrumbs, toasted
1/2 cup stock (any)
Directions:
1. Simmer sage and onions in water for 10 minutes. Add salt, pepper and toasted breadcrumbs. Stir well and add stock. Bring to a boil and simmer; covered, for 3 minutes before serving.
