Russian Herring In Shuba - Salad

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 onion
  • 2-3 carrots
  • 1 -2 beetroots
  • persley
  • 1 egg

Directions:

  1. Boil potatoes, carrots and beetroots
  2. Layer 1:
  3. Prepare the herring (separate bones, cutt into cubes)
  4. And spread evenly in a bowl.
  5. Layer 2 (if u don't wish onions you can jump to the next layer)
  6. Cut the onion in small cubes and place them on top of herring evenly.
  7. Layer 3:
  8. Grate the potatoes on a grater and spread them evenly over the onion.
  9. Cover this layer with mayonnaise.
  10. Layer 4:
  11. Grate the carrots on a grater and spread them evenly over the mayonnaise.
  12. Layer 5:
  13. Grate the beetroots on a grater and spread them evenly over the carrots.
  14. Cover this layer with mayonnaise.
  15. Sprinkle a boiled egg yolk on top for decoration.
  16. The salad is at its best, if it stands overnight in the refrigerator.
