Rolled Ginger Cookies

This is my mom's recipe she always made them at Christmas. As kids these were usually the last ones we ate.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 large egg
1 cup molasses
2 tablespoons vinegar
5 cups sifted flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon clove
Directions:
1. Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add egg, molasses and vinegar (mixture with curdle). Sift dry ingredients together and then gradually add to butter mixture. Chill 3 hours. Roll thin, use cookie cutters to make shapes. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 375 5-6 minutes. Makes 8-10 dozen.
