Homemade Hummus! This is so easy to do, in the long run cheaper than buying the pre-made stuff from the store, and really flavorful I also like to substitute the red pepper with sun dried tomato, equally delicious! Read more !
Ingredients:
1-2 cloves garlic
1 15 oz can cooked chickpeas(preserve 1/4 cup cooking liquid)
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp tahini
1/4 tsp cumin
hot pepper sauce, to taste
1/4 tsp chili powder
7 oz roasted red peppers
Directions:
1. Put garlic in food processor
2. Add in chick peas to food processor and begin to blend
3. Add in lemon juice and tahini
4. As necessary add chick pea cooking liquid to create creamy paste
5. Add in 1/4 tsp cumin, hot pepper sauce, cumin, and half of the roasted red peppers
6. Blend until creamy
7. Taste, and add additional hot sauce if desired
8. Add in the rest of the red peppers and pulse to mix
9. Serve with veggies, pitas chips, or spread in sandwich
