Rice Festival Pudding

Awesome rice pudding. Obtained this from an estate sale and have tried it. We love it and hope you do too.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup long grain rice
1 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 quart milk
1/2 stick butter
3 eggs beaten
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup seedless raisins
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
1. Add rice and salt to boiling water in a large sauce pan.
2. Cover and cook over low heat for 10 minutes.
3. Add milk and butter and bring to boil.
4. Turn heat to very low and when milk has ceased boiling cover and cook for 1 hour.
5. Add sugar, raisins and vanilla to beaten eggs then pour into the rice stirring slowly for 3 minutes.
