This is from a family reunion cookbook. It's very easy and quick to make. The pickles are crisp and tasty. I use a glass gallon jar, and put plastic wrap under the lid, then shake it up. When the sugar is dissolved the pickles are ready! Enjoy! : )
Ingredients:
3 slim cucumbers
3 onions (about medium)
3 green peppers, cut into strips
4 cups sugar
4 cups vinegar
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/2 cup pickling salt
Directions:
1. Use a 1 gallon jar or other glass container of desirable size. Wash and slice equal amounts of cucumbers and onions into jar. Don’t peel cucs. Add a couple green peppers cut into strips. Combine and pour over the cucs, onions and peppers the sugar, vinegar, celery seed, mustard seed and pickling salt. Refrigerate. No Cooking Required!
