Red-Wine Vinaigrette

I found this in the weekend magazine.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons dijon mustard
6 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar
salt & freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1/2 cup olive oil
2 garlic cloves, peeled and smashed (optional)
Directions:
1. Whisk together everything except olive oil.
2. Slowly drizzle in oil, whisking until thickened.
3. Add the garlic cloves, if desired, and let them flavor the vinaigrette overnight.
4. Bring to room temperature before using.
