Raspberry Zing Syrup

From Gourmet, July 2007. A raspberry syrup. Best used fresh picked raspberries.
Ingredients:
4 1/2 cups raspberries
3/4 cup sugar
2 1/2 tablespoons raspberry vinegar
2 tablespoons water
Directions:
1. Bring all ingredients to a boil in saucepan and stir until sugar is dissolved.
2. Reduce heat simmer uncovered for 20 minutes. Stir occasionally.
3. Strain with a fine mesh sieve into bowl by pressing gently.
4. Discard solids. If more than 1 cup syrup reduce by boiling.
5. Cool, then chill covered.
