Raspberry Hasty Cake

This is a recipe I obtained from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Crawford Estate in Quinlan, Texas in 1982.
Ingredients:
2 cups sifted flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup milk
melted butter
1 cup fresh raspberries
3/4 cup small chunk maple sugar
Directions:
1. Sift together first 4 ingredients.
2. Cut in shortening with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse meal.
3. Add milk and mix only until all flour is dampened.
4. Spread into a well greased skillet or pan then brush top with melted butter.
5. Spread raspberries over top then sprinkle with chunk maple sugar.
6. Bake for 20 minutes at 450.
