old family recipe....makes a gallon at a time Ingredients:
1/3 cup salad oil |
1/3 cup vinegar |
2 tablespoons salt |
1/4 cup garlic, fine chopped |
4 (29 ounce) cans canned whole tomatoes, chopped |
10 -14 jalapenos, chopped fine with seeds |
2 large onions, chopped fine |
Directions:
1. Heat salad oil, vinegar,chopped garlic,and salt to almost boiling,stirring often-do not boil-Set aside to cool. 2. To gallon jar add:. 3. chopped tomatoes-saving juice fron cans. 4. chopped jalapenos. 5. chopped onions. 6. then add cooled mixture. 7. stir to mix add remaining juice from cans to fill jar. 8. stir well and refrigerate. |
