Taking baked beans to another level. I use a crock pot but can be made in the oven. This is a great side dish or can be used as a main dish. My boss gave me this recipe for a pot luck we were having and it went over very well. Can prep the night before or same day. You can use any kind of beans you would like but the baked beans must stay.
Ingredients:
12 slices bacon
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
1 teaspoon mustard
3 sweet onions
1 (15 ounce) can butter beans
1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans
1 (15 ounce) can lima beans
3 (15 ounce) cans baked beans (i prefer bush's)
Directions:
1. Fry up bacon set a side on paper towel. I use thick cut bacon.
2. Drain the butter, kidney and lima beans. DO NOT drain the baked beans.
3. Slice onions to your liking.
4. Add all the ingredients to crock pot or large baking dish.
5. For oven cook at 350°F for about an hour or so. Crock pot cook on high for about 3-4 hours turn to low for hour or until ready to eat.
