This dish will satisfy any hungry family, it has a creamy texture with a potatoe and kielbasi flavor that is soooo very satisfying.This is also so very good the next morning cold for breakfast...LOL..we europeans eat differently in the mornings than people here in the states. Ingredients:
3 lbs potatoes, boiled whole
6-8 hard boiled eggs
2 lbs of smoked sausage ( your choice )
2 onions sauteed til transparent
butter
canola oil
1 - 16 oz container riccotta cheese, or larger
1 - 16 oz sour cream or larger
garlic salt
garlic powder
pepper
season salt
grated cheddar cheese
Directions:
1. Boil potatoes whole and peel when cooled and set aside
2. boil eggs and peel and set aside
3. in a bowl mix ricotta cheese with generous amount of garlic powder and some garlic season all
4. get roasting pan and litely drizzle bottom with oil
5. slice and sautee onions till just transparent in butter or margerine
6. start slicing potatoes and place on bottom of roaster till it just covers the bottom
7. then put some of the sauteed onions on top of that, spreading all over potatoes
8. then drop by spoonfuls the ricotta cheese mixture all over top of onions and potatoes
9. then drop by spoon the sour cream where there is no ricotta, sorta alternating drops
10. then slice kielbasi in circles and place all over top of cheese and sour cream to cover the entire top of it
11. then repeat layers until all is gone leaving the top layer as potatoes
12. place in 375 degree oven and bake for 1 hour
13. then take out and sprinkle cheddar cheese all over top and place back in oven for 5 mins or more, till all melted and gooey.
14. take out of oven and let sit for 5 minutes before serving. ENJOY
