Quick Spring Pasta

I found this in an Old Farmers Alamanac. It is very quick to make and even better, it is delicious.
Ingredients:
1 lb fresh asparagus
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup fresh mushrooms (sliced)
1/2 cup chicken broth
8 ounces angel hair pasta
1/2 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
red pepper flakes (optional)
Directions:
1. Cut asparagus into one-inch sections.
2. Add olive oil to skillet and saute mushrooms until just tender.
3. Drain juices.
4. Add asparagus and cook for another 3 minutes; stir while cooking, and add broth as needed for moisture.
5. In the meantime, cook pasta to desired doneness.
6. Drain pasta and top with vegetables.
7. Then sprinkle cheese (and pepper flakes, if desired) over the top.
