I adopted this recipe from the zaar account in Feb/05. It looked like something I would like to make and enjoy eating.
Ingredients:
2 (10 ) cans beef broth
2 (2 ) cans red beets
1 cup water
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 dash garlic powder
salt
1/2 cup red table wine
Directions:
1. Dilute the broth using the juice from the red beets instead of water.
2. Put aside the beets for other uses.
3. Add 1 cup water.
4. Cook the borscht for 5 minutes.
5. Season.
6. Add wine.
