Pumpkin Spice And Pecan Cake With Honey Spice Butt...

This is a recipe I obtained from Country Living Magazine. I have not made this but my sister did and brought it to a family luncheon yesterday. It is fantastic.
Ingredients:
1 chocolate cake mix
2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice blend
2/3 cup pumpkin
1/4 cup unsalted butter softened
3 whole large eggs
1 cup finely ground pecans
3/4 cup water
frosting
1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin
1/2 cup dark honey
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
3-1/2 sticks butter at room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350.
2. Lightly butter and flour three round cake pans.
3. Place all ingredients in large bowl and beat on medium high until batter is smooth.
4. Divide batter evenly between pans and bake 35 minutes.
5. Cool completely on a wire rack before frosting.
6. To make frosting combine gelatin and two tablespoons water in small bowl.
7. Let sit 10 minutes.
8. Bring honey, sugar and water to a boil in a small saucepan.
9. Reduce heat to low and simmer five minutes.
10. Remove from heat and let cool three minutes.
11. Stir two tablespoons of honey mixture into gelatin until dissolved.
12. Whisk in remaining honey syrup along with salt and cinnamon.
13. Strain into a medium bowl and beat using mixer on high speed until doubled in volume.
14. Cool completely then add butter two tablespoons at a time while continuously beating.
15. Once all butter is added stir in vanilla then use immediately or keep chilled.
