Just another one I found in an old cookbook ! The reviewer of this recipe was very dossapointed. I have not tried this one myself, but I took the liberty of changing the salt content. This is a recipe that I ran across in an old old cookbook. I suggest anyone trying it just do a little experimenting. My apoligies.
Ingredients:
1 lb hot dog, cut into thirds
1/2 cup cornmeal
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3 tablespoons baking powder
1 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
oil (for deep frying)
Directions:
1. Heat fryer to 350°F.
2. Mix all dry ingredients together. Add egg and milk and beat with electric mixer until smooth. Dip weiners into batter and fry in hot deep fat until brown on one side. Turn over and brown on other side. Drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
