Prep time: about 30 minutes; I just had to include a pretzel recipe!
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon yeast
1/2 cup water, warm
1 teaspoon honey
1 1/3 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit (165 degrees C).
2. Put yeast in a small bowl with water and honey. Stir, then let sit for 5 minutes.
3. While waiting for 5 minutes, mix flour and salt in medium-sized bowl.
4. After 5 minutes is up, check on yeast moisture (should have become more bubbly and show an increase in size). Add this mixture to flour and salt mixture.
5. Stir it all together with a wooden spoon and, later, with your hands. When the dough is a little crumbly and flaky, it is ready.
6. Sprinkle flour on a cutting board. Put dough on cutting board and knead like clay. Knead into a large ball.
7. Break off a piece of the dough that is about the size of a big gumball. Roll into a narrow cylinder.
8. Twist the cylinder into a pretzel shape and place upon a baking sheet that has been spaced with nonstick spray. Use the remaining dough to make 11 other pretzels.
9. Bake for 10 minutes. Allow to cool before eating.
