I have had this dessert at many pot luck dinners! It is DELICIOUS. I found this recipe in a book I bought at a book fair. servings and prep time are approximate.
Ingredients:
2 2/3 cups broken pretzel twists
3/4 cup margarine
1/4 cup sugar
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
8 oz whipped cream
10 oz frozen strawberries
1 (8oz) can crushed pineapple
1 large pkg strawberry jello
Directions:
1. Melt margarine and stir into pretzels and 1/4 cup of sugar.
2. Press into 9x13-inch pan and bake at 350*F for 10 minutes.
3. Cool completely.
4. Cream remaining sugar and cream cheese together.
5. Fold in whipped cream and spread over cooled pretzel mixture. Refrigerate.
6. Drian juice from strawberries and pineapple. Measure enough juice and water to make 2 cups.
7. Boil water and juice; add jello to dissolve.
8. Cool until set, then add strawberries and pineapple.
9. Pour over cream cheese layer and refrigerate.
