Potato Dumpling Soup

This is an old German recipe handed down from my German grandmother, Definitely not a diet food! My whole family loves this one!
Ingredients:
8 large potatoes, peeled
2 cups or more all purpose flour
1 # bacon
2 large cooking onions
grate potatoes and add enough flour until batter is stiff.
dice bacon and fry until almost crisp, dice onion and add to bacon.
cook until browned but not burnt.
drop potato mix into a pot of hot scalding water. add bacon, onion and drippings and let cook for 5 minutes. enjoy
Directions:
1. Grate potatoes and add enough flour until batter is stiff.
2. Dice bacon and onion.
3. Fry bacon until almost done, add diced onion and cook until browned, be careful you do not burn this.
4. Drop potato mix into a pot of hot scalding (NOT boiling) water.
5. Add bacon, onion and drippings to pot and let cook for 5 minutes.
6. ENJOY!
