Our dear friends Dave and Val made a batch of these for a holiday party, and they were perfect! On its own, I don't love the taste of pomegranate, but the addition of the cranberry and orange flavors sweetens the taste. If you really want to enjoy your own party, just make a big batch of these, chill it in the fridge, and then pour individual servings into the cocktail shaker when you're ready—so much easier! For extra sparkle, run an orange slice around the rim of each martini glass, and then dip it in superfine sugar. Beautiful!
Ingredients:
6 tablespoons pomegranate juice, divided
6 tablespoons cranberry juice cocktail, divided
2 tablespoons orange-flavored liqueur, divided
1/4 cup raspberry-flavored or plain vodka, divided
crushed ice
pomegranate seeds (optional)
orange curls (optional)
Directions:
1. Combine 3 tablespoons pomegranate juice, 3 tablespoons cranberry juice cocktail, 1 tablespoon liqueur, and 2 tablespoons vodka in a cocktail shaker; fill shaker with crushed ice. Shake for 15 seconds; strain into a martini glass. Repeat procedure with remaining pomegranate juice, cranberry juice cocktail, liqueur, and vodka. Garnish with pomegranate seeds and an orange curl, if desired.
2. Tip: This cocktail can be made gluten free by using potato vodka instead of regular vodka.
