This is quick and easy if you don't have plum sauce on the shelf. Don't be afraid to use a different jam. It won't be traditional, however it will do the trick.
Ingredients:
16 ounces plum jam (or another fruit)
2 tablespoons vinegar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 tablespoons onions, minced finely
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
Directions:
1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine jam, vinegar, brown sugar, dried onion, red pepper, garlic and ginger.
2. Bring to a boil, stirring.
3. Remove from heat.
4. If you are not using it right away and make a big batch, use standard canning procedure to be safe.
