Growing up in Pittsburgh this was a sandwich staple. Anyone who grew up here and remembers Islay's -- this is as close to the original as it gets. Serve on hamburger buns or your favorite hard roll.
Ingredients:
2 (12 ounce) bottles chili sauce (such as heinz®)
1 cup brown sugar
3 pounds chipped chopped ham (such as isaly's®)
Directions:
1. Stir the chili sauce and brown sugar in a large skillet over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture has come to a simmer. Stir in the ham; bring to a boil. Serve hot.
