Pineapple Upside Down French Toast

This is fantastic, really creamy, buttery, fruity and a must for all pineapple fans. This is one of the most requested breaktast dishes at my house. It's easy but looks and taste like you slaved for hours. Enjoy
Ingredients:
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/3 cup dark brown sugar firmly packed
20 ounce can crushed pineapple in juice drained reserving 1/4 cup juice
2 large eggs
1 cup milk
1/4 half and half
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
8 slices french bread 1 thick
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400.
2. Melt butter over medium heat then stir in sugar until dissolved.
3. Add pineapple stirring well to incorporate then set aside.
4. Whisk eggs, milk, half and half, pineapple juice, salt, cinnamon and vanilla extract.
5. Lightly grease a rectangular baking dish and spread pineapple evenly over bottom.
6. Dip bread slices into milk mixture and arrange in one layer on top of pineapple mixture.
7. Pour any remaining milk mixture over all.
8. Bake in middle of oven for 25 minutes or until bread is golden.
