My mother makes this occasionally with ham for a *special* dinner. It is soooooooooo unbelievably good! It is served hot. (although I sometimes eat it cold it's so good!) It's also incredibly easy to make! Perfect for a holiday side dish!
Ingredients:
7 slices white bread (cubed)
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple
Directions:
1. CREAM margarine and sugar.
2. BEAT in eggs, one at a time.
3. STIR in pineapple (and its juice).
4. FOLD in bread cubes.
5. PlACE in buttered casserole dish.
6. BAKE at 350 for 45-60 minutes.
