Pigs in Blankets - Oyster Appetizers

A lovely, savory morsel from the Southern chapter of the United States Regional Cookbook, Culinary Arts Institute of Chicago, 1947.
Ingredients:
12 oysters
1 pimiento, pepper
12 slices bacon
salt
pepper, and
cayenne (to taste)
Directions:
1. Season oysters.
2. Slice pimiento into 12 strips, placing one on each oyster.
3. Wrap each oyster in bacon and fasten with skewer or wooden toothpick.
4. Broil about 8 minutes or until bacon is golden brown and crisp.
