This is a recipe for canned pickled beets from my Grandma Thornburg. She was known far and wide for being a good cook. I'll bet she entered these beets at the County Fair more than once. From the kitchen of Vel Yager Thornburg.
Ingredients:
3 quarts beets (peeled, cooked & sliced)
1 cup sugar
1 cup vinegar
1 cup water
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients and let come to a boil. Pack into quart jars while hot. Seal.
