Pickled Beet Salad

Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups beets (canned, sliced and reserve juice)
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 cup beet juice (from reserve)
2 tablespoons sugar
2 cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 peppercorns
1/4 bay leaf
1 green pepper, sliced
1 onion, sliced
1/2 teaspoon horseradish
Directions:
1. Place the sliced beets in a fruit jar.
2. Mix all ingredients together and bring to a boil over medium heat.
3. Pour over the beets in fruit jar.
4. Refrigerate.
5. Serve chilled.
