Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Halve the red pepper and remove the seeds and membrane.
  2. Cook skin - side -up under a hot grill until the skin is black and blistered.
  3. Place in a plastic bag and leave to cool, then peel.
  4. Finely chop the flesh and combine in the bowl with the cheddar, parmesan cheese,mayonnaise,herbs, tabasco sauce, salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Cut the crusts from the bread, flatten th slices well with a rolling pinand brush both sides with melted butter.
  6. Spread the pepper mixtureon each slice, leaving a 1 cm (1/2 ) inch border..
  7. Roll upand secure each with a toothpicks.
  8. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  9. Preheat oven to 350 degress f. ( 180 c) cut each roll in half and secure again with the toothpicks..
  10. Bake on a baking sheet for about 10 to 12 minutes, or until the rolls are crisp and pale golden in color.
  11. Sprinkle with paprika and serve warm
  12. Note ....you can use any creative filling you like ....i tried pepperoni and cheese .. those were very good too.....
  13. You can make these up in advance
