Penzey's Pumpkin Bars With Brown Butter Icing

recipe from the most recent Penzey's catalog. Haven't made yet, but will soon. Both my boys love pumpkin desserts and this sounds great.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup soft butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs, room temp if you can
2/3 cup canned pumpkin
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon powdered ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup butter
3 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons milk
Directions:
1. For bars:.
2. Preheat oven to 350°F.
3. Cream butter.
4. Add brown sugar, eggs, pumpkin, and vanilla; mix well.
5. In separate bowl, sift all of dry ingredients together.
6. Gradually add to the wet mixture and mix well.
7. Pour into a greased 9x-inch13 pan and bake for 15-20 minutes.
8. Let cool then top with brown butter icing.

10. In a heavy bottomed pan, heat butter over low heat until it is a light brown color.
11. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk.
12. Whisk until smooth and well blended.
