Penne pasta layered with tomato sauce and cheese.
Ingredients:
16 oz penne pasta
1 lb. ground elk or beef
1/2 cup onion
15 oz tomato sauce
14 oz diced tomatoes
6 oz tomato paste
2 cups mozzarella cheese
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350. Boil noodles, drain and rinse. Cook meat and onions on stovetop, add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes and paste. Simmer about 5 minutes. In 13x9 dish, layer 1/2 pasta, 1/2 sauce and 1/2 cheese; repeat layers. Cover with foil and bake 30-40 minutes or until cheese is melted and layers are hot.
