Another recipe from the 1970 Karo ad. A little more work goes into these, but they are impressive and delicious! Note: I usually get less than 48 cookies, maybe I am a little too generous with the filling.
Ingredients:
mix 1/2 cup margarine (or butter) and 1/2 sugar. stir in 2 egg yolks, 1 teaspoon almond extract and 2 cups sifted flour. press evenly into tiny tart shells or muffin cups. bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes. bring to a boil 1/2 cup margarine (or butter), 1/3 cup karo dark corn syrup and 1 cup confectioners' sugar. stir in 1 cup chopped pecans. spoon into shells. top with pecan halves. bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes.
