PEANUT CANDY WITH SORGHUM This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Brimley Estate in McKinney, Texas in 1987.
Ingredients:
1-1/2 cups sorghum syrup
2 cups shelled parched peanuts
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup melted butter
Directions:
1. In sauce pan boil syrup until it forms hard drops when dropped into cold water.
2. Remove syrup from heat and stir in remaining ingredients.
3. Pour mixture into buttered pans.
4. When cooled cut into serving size pieces.
