Old Fashioned pound Cake with a dash of peachy Georgia goodness!
Ingredients:
3 cups sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 t. vanilla extract
6 eggs, at room temperature
3 cups flour
1/2 t. almond extract
1/4 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1/2 cup sour cream
2 cups peeled, chopped peaches
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 deg.
2. Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan.
3. In large mixer bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
5. Stir in extracts.
6. Combine dry ingredients in a small bowl; add to creamed mixture. Fold in sour cream and peaches.
7. Pour batter into prepared tube pan.
8. Bake 75 to 80 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
9. Makes 16 servings (about 400 calories each)
