This is a family recipe I found of my Nana's and I recently prepared this for friends and served warm with vanilla bean ice cream - they loved it! The peaches are perfect for summer, but this recipe is versatile, any fruit could be used depending on the season. Read more . Frozen fruit could be substituted, but fresh fruit is hard to beat! Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp corn starch
1 cup boiling water
2 cups sliced peaches (peeled)

1 cup flour
1 tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon (if desired)
4 tbsp butter
1/2 cup milk
Directions:
1. Mix sugar and corn starch. Add boiling water and cook until clear. Add fruit and pour into 9X13 baking dish.
2. For topping: Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt and cinnamon (if using). Cut in butter and slowly add milk.
3. Drop by large spoonfuls on top of fruit and bake 350 for 45 minutes.
