I got this recipe from Martha Stewart Living a long time ago. These cookies have everything (except for peanut butter - I guess Paul Bunyan didn't like peanut butter) :-) I won a blue ribbon at the county fair for these, under the cookie with the most ingredients category.
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup molasses
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 (12 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups old fashioned oats
1 cup walnuts, chopped
1 cup raisins
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Sift together flour, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, salt and ginger.
3. Cream shortening and sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add molasses and beat to combine. Add eggs, one at a time and mix until fully incorporated. Add the flour mixture, one cup at a time. Using a wooden spoon, stir in chocolate chips, oats, walnuts and raisins.
4. Using a 2 inch ice cream scoop, drop dough onto greased baking sheet. Bake 15-18 minutes. Cool on pan for 5 minutes, then remove to wire rack to cool completely.
