This recipe goes with Cream-Filled Hazelnut Tea Cake
Ingredients:
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 large egg
1 cup 1% low-fat milk
2 teaspoons butter or stick margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
Directions:
1. Combine sugar and cornstarch in a small saucepan; stir well. Add egg; stir well with a whisk until smooth. Add milk, stirring until smooth.
2. Stir constantly over medium heat 8 minutes until mixture thickens and comes to a boil. Remove from heat, and stir in butter and flavorings. Spoon mixture into a bowl and chill.
