Only 5 ingredients, easy and delicious. I think the freshly grated parmesan makes the difference between good and great. Also, remember to whisk constantly as it is coming to a boil or it will have lumps.
Ingredients:
3 cups water
1 cup milk
1 cup quick-cooking grits
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
Directions:
1. Bring the water, milk, grits and salt to a boil in a heavy, large saucepan, whisking constantly as it comes to a boil.
2. Reduce heat, cover and simmer until grits are creamy, stirring occasionally, about 10 minutes.
3. Add cheese and whisk until it melts.
