The tropical nectars make this an intensely flavored granita–and there's a nutrition bonus, too: Both papaya and guava give you a dose of vitamins A and C.
Ingredients:
1 cup guava nectar
1 cup papaya nectar
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon grated orange rind (from 1 orange)
1/4 cup fresh orange juice (about 1 orange)
Directions:
1. Combine first 3 ingredients in a medium saucepan. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat 3 minutes or just until sugar dissolves. Place pan in a large ice-filled bowl; cool completely, stirring occasionally.
2. Stir in orange rind and juice. Pour mixture into a 13 x 9-inch glass or ceramic baking dish. Freeze until partially frozen (about 2 hours). Scrape with a fork, crushing any lumps. Freeze, scraping with a fork every hour, 2 hours or until completely frozen. Spoon into dessert dishes.
