This recipe is so versatile (which I love). I've used everything from Oreo Cookies to nuts to double coated peanut butter chocolate. The key is to let the pretzels harden in the refrigerator before the second step. This recipe is just a guide line. Let your imagination take over. Have fun. FYI..PLEASE USE A GOOD QUALITY CHOCOLATE LIKE GHIRADELLI.
Ingredients:
1/2 lb pretzel, love utz's (regular or rods)
1 (11 1/2 ounce) bag dark chocolate (milk, semi or white also)
1 teaspoon shortening
12 oreo cookies (crushed up)
3 ounces white chocolate
Directions:
1. In a double boiler melt Dark Chocolate and Shortening. (low heat).
2. While melting layout wax or parchment paper on counter.
3. Crush Oreo Cookies to a small almost powder with a few small chunks.(I use a baggie).
4. When chocolate is melted remove from heat. Coat each pretzel and place on wax paper. (sometimes I double coat. Place in fridge for a few minutes before you do).
5. Sprinkle Oreo Cookie on top of pretzels and place in fridge for about 5 minutes. Remove.
6. Melt White Chocolate and with a fork splatter over Oreo Cookie coating.
7. Place back in fridge for about 15 minutes.
