Sculpt your own turkey from a few oreo's a bit of candy and some ready made frosting -a fun activity for kids of all ages and they look adorable too. Super activity that will help keep them busy while the turkey's cooking. Read more . Again another recipe I found on Recipezaar, but I've seen it around the net on other sites too.
Ingredients:
24 double stuff oreo's
12 miniature peanut butter cups
12 malted milk balls
1 cup candy corn
4 ounces chocolate frosting
4 ounces white frosting
ret food coloring
Directions:
1. Place one Oreo as the base and top with a teaspoon chocolate frosting.
2. Place an unwrapped peanut butter cup on it's side into the chocolate frosting atop the oreo base.
3. Place a teaspoon size dollop of chocolate frosting onto the widest side of the peanut butter cup (the smooth top -which is now the side since it's laying on it's side).
4. Take another Oreo and stud one edge with candy corn -pushing the white tip of the candy corn into the cream center so that they fan along the edge -about 5-6 candy corn. If they do not stay -use some of the white frosting as glue.
5. Place this candy corn studded Oreo (the turkey's tail) against the dollop of chocolate frosting you added to the smooth widest part of the peanut butter cup. You may need to add some chocolate frosting to the Oreo base to help the other Oreo stand.
6. Place a small dollop of chocolate icing on the top edge of the peanut butter cup and top with a malted milk ball. (this is the head)
7. Take some of the white frosting (no more than 1/2) and add red food coloring and mix until incorporated.
8. Use a toothpick to make two teeny blobs of white icing for the eyes.
9. Take one of the tips off a candy corn & apply with some chocolate frosting as the turkey beak.
10. Use another toothpick and use the red frosting to make the throat wattle and snood -the flap of skin under it's beek (wattle) & hanging over top of beak (snood).
11. Now isn't that the cutes little turkey you've ever seen?
