This sounds like a good change for a bread. It says that it is good with beef when you don't have a gravy - bet it's good with gravy, too!
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
4 tbs shortening
1/2 - 2/3 cup milk
2 tbs butter
2 1/2 cups sliced onions
1 egg
1/2 cup cream
t tsp salt
Directions:
1. Sift together flour, baking powder, and 1/2 tsp salt. Cut in shortening. Add cream and knead dough slightly. Flatten in a greased casserole.
2. Melt butter in a skillet; add onions and brown. Cool and spread over dough.
3. Beat egg, milk and salt and pour over onions. Bake at 400 for 15-20 minutes.
