A different kind of onion soup
Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter
2 cups sliced onions
6 cups beef broth
1 egg
3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp black pepper
Directions:
1. Melt butter and add onions. Saute until golden brown. Add broth and bring to a boil. Meanwhile, beat egg well and add flour, salt, and pepper. Mix first with tablespoon then by rubbing dough between your fingers. (No pieces larger than a pea). Sprinkle dough pieces slowly into the the boiling broth, stirring constantly, but gently. Reduce heat to medium and simmer 8 to 10 minutes. Serve immediately.
