This Swiss dish is usually served with coffee and/or milk according to Cindy. It just sounds superb to me.. love those tart apples!
Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter
12 ounces french bread, thinly sliced
3 granny smith apples peeled, cored and sliced
3 tablespoons white sugar
3 tablespoons raisins
1 tablespoon cinnamon/sugar, if desired
Directions:
1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium high heat.
2. Lightly brown the bread in the butter.
3. Stir apples, sugar and raisins into pan.
4. Reduce heat to medium low, cover and cook until a light crust forms on the underside, about 10 minutes.
5. Flip the roesti onto a serving plate, cut into wedges.
6. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, if desired.
