My Rice Porridge (Red Date Congee)

Home made rice porridge.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup brown rice
1/2 cup basmati rice
6 red dates
1 1/4 litres water
1 tsp salt
Directions:
1. Soak rice in 1 litre of water overnight.
2. Soak red dates in 250ml water overnight and in the morning process these to a fine slurry.
3. Add to the rice and water mixture and add salt. Cook in slow cooker on low for approx 12 hours. When cool, bag in ziplok bags, 1/2 cup of the mixture at a time.
