My Mothers Grits And Green Onion Bake Dated 1968

This is great for breakfast, brunch or dinner. This is a recipe my mother has been making for as long as I can remember. I didn't like it as a kid but devour it as an adult. Yummy.
Ingredients:
2 cups water
1/2 cup enriched white hominy quick grits
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/3 cup sliced green onions
1/4 cup butter
1 egg beaten
1/8 teaspoon liquid red pepper sauce
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 then grease a casserole dish.
2. Bring water to boil in heavy saucepan then stir in grits and salt.
3. Return to a boil and reduce heat then cook uncovered for 4 minutes.
4. Stir in remaining ingredients and continue cooking over low heat until cheese is melted. Pour into prepared casserole then bake 30 minutes.
