My Grandmas Lemon Bars

Ingredients:

  • crust
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 sticks of butter (softened )
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 10 tbsp of lemon juice
  • 4 tbsp of flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

Directions:

  1. To make crust, mix together first two ingredients and then cut in butter.
  2. Press into a 9x13 baking pan (ungreased).
  3. Make a ridge.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
  5. While crust is in oven,
  6. Beat your eggs slightly, add your sugar and the lemon juice.
  7. Fold in your 4 Tbsp of flour and your baking powder.
  8. When crust is done, pour mixture over your baked crust and bake another 25 minutes.
  9. Cool completely.
  10. Sprinkle with powdered sugar
  11. *Note* Lemon Bars can be cut smaller or bigger, whatever your preference. And, I know I could just measure up the 10 tablespoons of lemon juice and be quicker about it but my Grandma always said, my recipe, my way . Besides, I like tradition.
