This is SO easy, I'm not sure I should be posting it - but a lot of people I know hadn't thought of it, especially as a topping, so here goes.......
Ingredients:
a good helping of button mushrooms (or a mixture of different types according to your favourites) for each person
olive oil
butter
oyster sauce - i've tried making this from scratch and found it wasn't worth the considerable effort when the ready made is so good.
Directions:
1. Clean and slice the mushrooms
2. In a wok or frying pan, melt the butter into the oil, to give enough to coat the amount of mushrooms you're cooking
3. Add the mushrooms and fry until just starting to brown
4. Add enough oyster sauce to thoroughly coat the mushrooms, plus a bit more for extra sauce.
5. Great as part of a Chinese meal, either as a side dish or stirred into cooked noodles - or fantastic as a topping for steak, pork fillet or chicken
