Use Oat Bran & Stone Ground Whole Wheat Flour Pita Bread. (Joesph's Heart Friendly). Fat is only 1.5g & Protein is 7g per Pita. Each Pita is 39g and has 60 calories and only has 10g carbs.
Ingredients:
2 pitas, 6
2 cups mushrooms, sliced
1 small red onion, thinly sliced
1/4 cup green bell pepper
2 tsp dried basil leaves
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 t parmesan cheese
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 425 F.
2. Split each Pita into havles around edges with a knife to make 4 rounds.
3. Place rounds, cut side up, on an ungreased cookie sheet.
4. Arrange mushrooms on bread rounds.
5. Top with onion rings and bell pepper.
6. Sprinkle with basil and cheeses.
7. Bake until cheese is melted, 8 to 10 mins.
8. Cut each round into 4 pcs (8 servings).
