Mushroom Fritters

These fritters are good to dip with... You can use buttermilk dressing or any favorite of your own.
Ingredients:
1 cup all purpose flour
2 tablespoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 beaten egg
2/3 cup milk
12 oz button mushrooms, sliced (about 4 1/2 cups)
cooking oil for deep frying
green onion for garnish
Directions:
1. In medium bowl stir together first 3 ingredients.
2. In a small bowl combine egg and milk.
3. Pour milk mixture all at once into flour mixture, stir just until moistened.
4. Fold in mushrooms.
5. In a large saucepan or deep fryer, heat 3 to 4 inches of hot oil.
6. Carefully drop mushroom mixture by tablespoons into oil.
7. Fry a few fritters at a time, 3 to 4 minutes or until golden brown.
8. Remove from hot oil and drain on paper towel.
